The ability to direct targeted traffic to a site, or blog, is the livelihood for any business wanting a presence on the internet. You should never come to the conclusion of thinking that all traffic is the same and that you can generate income from just any kind of traffic – it never works.
Always remember that you want to align your services or products with the marketplace your product belongs to.
Now, you’re published, you’re on the net, but what’s the plan to get people to actually locate your blog and enjoy it?
You’ve got to push it or it’s a waste of time. There are thousands of ways in which to market your blog but here are some basic steps for your initial publicity tour.
Become an Active Blogger
Blog Frequently! The initial mistake most bloggers make is not blogging frequently; allowing weeks to go by without any postings. If your blog is not being updated it will never move up the search engine ladder and you’ll remain below the golden first page. This means you’ll have a “dead” blog and the effort made by you will never be realized.
Submit Blog Posts to Article Directories
If you post to your blog frequently (a minimum of four days a week), then you will surely have a variety of posts.
Some will be diminutive ones pointing to helpful resources while others should be what are referred to as your “mainstay” postings – these are longer posts that have deep thoughtful content.
After you write a great mainstay post, submit it to at least one or a many article directories for publication. When you are choosing a directory to submit to look at how popular the site is and its page ranking. Your first article directory to look towards publication should be Ezinearticles; this directory is known to be one of the best article directories for getting you noticed. Be certain to include a link to your blog in your resource box.
- Tweet Your Best Blog Posts
You never want to neglect social networking services like Facebook and Twitter because these are the most popular social networking sites on the internet today. Just about anybody interested in an online presence today is a member of some social media site. Internet marketers can use these sites to find people in their target market. Twitter gives you the opportunity to build a list of followers that you have targeted for their interests. Facebook also gives you the potential to reach a very large number of people in your target market. If you decide to tweet regarding a specific blog post, be sure to make the blurb fascinating or compelling.
- Comment on other Relevant High Ranked Blogs
Commenting on well-liked blogs is another manner to get links back to your own blog and drive traffic there. First, research and bookmark 5 to 10 very well-liked blogs that are in your niche or relevant to it. For every blog you discover, use a service like Page Rank Checker to search out the page rank for each blog. Choose solely the blogs with a page rank of three or higher. Posting insightful comments can help expand your online presence which will bring new guests to your own blog. People will visit your blog because of the link from your comment back to your blog and as a result they begin to notice what insights you have and what you can offer them. But without intriguing comments and postings you won’t get noticed at all.
- Post Occasional Links in Forums
It’s strongly suggested you become a member of relevant forums. By becoming a member of at least a pair of forums, you’ll be able to offer helpful solutions and point to resolutions in your own blog posts if they are relevant to the topic being mentioned. As an example, if somebody asks a question in the forum concerning adoption and you’ve written a set of all-inclusive blog posts about the adoption process, it’s perfectly acceptable to provide the person’s query with your solution and then direct them to your blog posts for a lot of in-depth information.
The keys to online success are not difficult to ascertain, but you must master the fundamentals first. It’s a lot of trial and error and self learning, but the most important point is determination to become a success. If you don’t have the desire you’re wasting your valuable time.
Now that you’ve read through these effective tips for generating traffic to your site, which one will you take on as a new habit? Which ones have you tried already? Which ones work well for you? Which ones do you want to test? What questions do you have?
