Update October 2016: Years ago, I published blog posts on blogcatalog.com — but, of course, I linked to my old blog name, thatgirlisfunny. Because I neglected to pay my fee, my blog name was purchased by someone else! Hence, now it is called thatgirlisfunny2.
Since that time, looks like my posts have disappeared.
But look what I found in my google search — 6 years later! A thank you and an acknowledgement that I missed way back then.
Reposting Old Blogs
I am in the process of re-posting those old blogs on this blog. Nice to have everything in one place because things online really aren’t that permanent. Websites disappear. Updates and mergers crush old links leaving random references to pages that no longer exist. The dreaded 404!
BlogCatalog Blog Gets a Makeover
We decided that it was time to give the BlogCatalog blog a new look and a bit of a new direction. The BlogCatalog Daily Reader will be a place where our team shares the latest BC news, our thoughts on the world of blogging and social media, and a little bit about ourselves and our un-corporate culture.
How does this differ from what we did in the past. Well, our blog has always done the things mentioned above, but it was also a place where community members could publish posts based on their interests and their areas of expertise. While we think it is good to have a place in the community where bloggers can share their posts, we feel that the company blog is no longer the best place to do so. We want our blog to be the voice of the BC team and a place where our team can share with and engage our audience.
Acknowledgement and Thank You
I wanted to say thank you so much to all of the bloggers, especially Theresa Hall and Cheryl Ragsdale, who have taken the time to write posts for the blog in the past. You guys wrote some wonderful posts and we truly appreciate it. I also wanted to let you know that we are still more than happy to consider requests for guest posts. If you have a post that you think would be valuable and interesting to our audience, feel free to get in touch.
We hope that, in it’s new form, BC Daily Reader will be an even more valuable tool for connecting with bloggers and readers, informing people about what’s going on at BC, sharing social media news, and giving y’all a glimpse into the personalities that make up our team.”
