We’re laughing with you, little one. So funny.
Little girls grow up fast these days. Dads want to protect them as long as possible. This little girl, running from her shadow, in this mini-video had to be made by a guy. This is dad humor. I can’t stop laughing when I see it. It’s not mean to laugh at this poor little thing terrified of her own shadow. It feels so familiar. This is our reaction to new things that frighten us. Dads teach courage and risk-taking differently from how Mum does it.
When Dads Teach Girls How To Protect Themselves
Eventually, girls want to learn how to protect themselves. And Dad, or another good man, is there to teach them. Two girls: one running from her shadow and one practicing shadow boxing — and other techniques with her boxing coach.
Jesselyn ‘JessZilla’ Silva: Girl Boxer
A few little girls grow up and want to learn how to box. The New York Times made a video about a “Girl Boxer” named Jesselyn, JessZilla” Silva. She’s tough, she’s funny and she loves boxing. Dad says, “I’m not built for boxing, but she is.”
Little JessZilla has a big goal. She wants to beat Claressa Shields‘ Olympic record for boxing.
